The amicus brief was submitted on behalf of twenty-two national and local nonprofit organizations that protect, advance, and support the rights of Asian American and Latino communities in the United States. The brief contends that Ohio’s aggressive practice of purging voter rolls – a list of individuals who have not voted in a two-year period – is harmful to communities of color, especially those with limited English proficiency in the Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Latinx communities.

Washington, DC – Today the president issued an executive order to create a Presidential Commission on Election Integrity. The commission is expected to study "vulnerabilities" in U.S. voting systems, but an administration official stated it would also look into potential issues of "improper voting, fraudulent voter registrations, and fraudulent voting" – claims that previous studies have proven to be unfounded.

New U.S. Attorney General’s troubling record is a blow to Immigration and Civil Rights progress
WASHINGTON, DC — Attorney general nominee, Jeff Sessions, was confirmed through a floor vote in the Senate this evening.
“Today, calls to the hotline (1-888-API-VOTE) paint a different picture for the Asian American electorate than in past years as the majority of calls were not about voter intimidation but rather about AAPIs exercising their democratic rights,” said Mee Moua, president and executive director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC. “Our hotline was a beacon of information for the community – finding polling locations and providing in-language resources for AAPI voters.
This election, it is estimated that one in six eligible voters has a disability. In fact, the disability community not only makes up the country’s largest voting bloc, but it also composes the country’s largest minority, a diverse and complex minority that covers all races, ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, and religions.
