Asian American Organizations Public Comment on Circumvention of Lawful Pathways

The undersigned organizations—a coalition of Asian American organizations and community groups—submit this comment to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) in response to the proposed rule on the Circumvention of Lawful Pathways, published on February 23, 2023. As a majority immigrant community with deep roots to U.S. systems of humanitarian protection, we write to express our opposition to the proposed rule and to encourage the Biden Administration to implement border policies that underscore welcome and restore full, robust, and meaningful access to asylum.
