Washington, DC — August 28, 2023 — Three people were murdered tragically in a mass shooting that took place at a Dollar General store in Jacksonville, Florida on August 26, 2023.

Washington, D.C. – On August 26, President and Executive Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian American Justice Center (Advancing Justice – AAJC) John C. Yang will speak at the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington. Asian Americans Advancing Justice – AAJC is the only Asian American co-chair for the March, which aims to continue Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s lifelong work of advancing justice and civil rights for the African American community, and for all.
Legal Referral Service
The legal referral service is available to connect people impacted by the government’s targeting and profiling of Asian American and immigrant scientists, researchers, and scholars to attorneys. Staff are available to speak and text in English or Mandarin Chinese. Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC does not provide legal advice or direct representation on individual cases.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the national network of independent social justice affiliates Asian Americans Advancing Justice (Advancing Justice) mourns the losses of lives in the mall shooting in Allen, Texas and denounces white supremacy and its ties to gun violence.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC submits this statement to the United States Commission on Civil Rights for its briefing entitled “The Federal Response to Anti-Asian Racism in the United States” on March 24, 2023. Three years into the COVID-19 pandemic, Asian Americans are still impacted by anti-Asian hate and violence.
