Notice of Violation of National Voter Registration Act and Demand for Remedial Actions and Documents

AAJC and partners demand Alaska remedy voter roll changes that may violate the NVRA and Voting Rights Act and protect eligible voters in Alaska's 2026 elections

Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC, the ACLU of Alaska, and the ACLU sent a notice of violation to Alaska election officials on behalf of the League of Women Voters of Alaska, the Alaska Public Interest Research Group, impacted voters, and others, raising concerns about a voter list maintenance program initiated ahead of the August 18, 2026 primary election.

The organizations are calling on Alaska election officials to take immediate remedial steps to ensure impacted eligible voters can cast ballots and have them counted, provide required language assistance, and produce records related to the voter list maintenance program.
