Administration Uses Immigrant Youth As Bargaining Chip

Washington, D.C. — October 9, 2017 — On Sunday, the Trump administration released a list of reprehensible immigration policy demands that threaten pending legislation in Congress to offer a path to citizenship to over a million undocumented immigrants who entered the U.S. as children.

Among this year’s honorees are the Starbucks Coffee Company, former Congressman Mike Honda, prominent Supreme Court attorney Neal K. Katyal, and co-founder of the Women’s March – Linda Sarsour, were announced today as the honorees for the Advancing Justice | AAJC’s annual American Courage Awards event.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – This evening, the Trump Administration announced its new, discriminatory Muslim and Refugee Ban to include North Korea, Venezuela, and Muslim-majority Chad, and continues to include Iran, Libya, Syria, and Yemen. The degree of immigration restriction varies by individual country, including a complete ban. This move by the Administration represents an attempt to sanitize a discriminatory and illegal policy before it is reviewed by the Supreme Court on October 10th.
