WASHINGTON, DC - Today, the Trump Administration released new proposed rules that would punish immigrants seeking vital healthcare and other services.

Immigrants are already currently barred from utilizing most federal programs during their first five years living in the United States. The proposed regulation greatly expands the federal government’s ability to reject applications for lawful permanent residency, attacking our family-based immigration system through backdoor methods.

The United States is projected to admit less than half of the number of refugees allowed under the current cap of 45,000 (19,899 refugees as of the end of August, projected to reach a high of 21,708 by the end of the fiscal year on September 30).
