Fairfax County School Board, which challenged race-blind admissions criteria at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJ) in Fairfax County, Virginia. The denial of cert allows the United States Court of Appeals decision to stand and in so doing affirms race-neutral admissions policies enacted by the Fairfax County School Board to expand access to educational opportunities for everyone are not racially discriminatory.

WASHINGTON, DC — February 2, 2024 — Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian American Justice Center (Advancing Justice – AAJC) issues a statement on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision, made to stop SB264,  a Florida law barring many Chinese immigrants from purchasing property in the state of Florida. Though the order is temporary and limited to only two of the challengers to the law, the Court indicated that SB264 is likely unlawful.
