DECEMBER 18, 2025 – Asian Americans Advancing Justice, a national affiliation of four independent Asian American civil rights organizations, strongly condemns the Trump administration’s expanded travel ban, which now targets immigrants and people of color from 39 countries and those traveling on Palestinian Authority-issued travel documents, under the false pretense of national security.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice, a national affiliation of four independent civil rights organizations, issues the following statement:
“Trump’s expanded travel ban is a deliberate attempt to dismantle our immigration and humanitarian protection systems, tearing millions of families apart, fueling xenophobia and deepening entrenched discrimination under the guise of national security. However, this continued targeted and discriminatory attack against people of color and immigrants does not make us safer or stronger.
“Families and communities of every race, background, and country of origin deserve to live free from fear and discrimination. The Trump administration’s expanded travel ban explicitly targets and discriminates against people of color, including Asian immigrants, and immigrants seeking safety, stability, and opportunity. This expansion not only fails to keep the nation safe but also intentionally blocks families from reuniting and continues to upend lives. We will continue to work in coalition with immigrant and civil rights communities to push back against xenophobic attacks and demand a humane immigration system that prioritizes people’s lives over politics.”
