William Otis, adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School and former member of the Bush administration, was announced as one of President Donald Trump’s nominees for the U.S. Sentencing Commission — a bipartisan agency that dictates federal sentencing guidelines — earlier this month.

根据亚美公义促进中心(Asian Americans Advancing Justice)对美国人口普查局(U.S。 Census Bureau)的数据进行分析得出,2000年至2010年间,美国南部地区亚裔数量增加了69%。

Washington, D.C. – Today, Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC and the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies commended U.S. Senator Kamala Harris’s (D-Calif.) appointment of Rohini Kosoglu as her new chief of staff. The Beat reported that Kosoglu is currently the only Asian American woman serving as chief of staff in the U.S. Senate.
Thirty-five groups representing Asian-Americans across the United States are calling on the two largest political parties to reject racist campaign rhetoric following a recent political ad by West Virginia Senate candidate Don Blankenship that many say is offensive.
Blankenship, the former Chairman and CEO of Massey Energy, is facing five other candidates in the Republican primary in West Virginia on Tuesday, but he chose to attack Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and McConnell’s wife Elaine Chao, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation.
Ahead of trade talks in China, Washington, D.C. has been putting pressure on Beijing by trying to limit Chinese investment in the U.S. and proposing to curb visas for Chinese researchers.
