Washington, D.C. — The President has issued a new Executive Order with the misleading title “Restoring Equality of Opportunity and Meritocracy.” The Executive Order purports to dismantle a longstanding and core component of the nation’s civil rights legal infrastructure, commonly known as disparate impact.
