Comments: Energy and Commerce Community Hearing with Platform CEOs on Misinformation and Disinformation
On behalf of Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC (Advancing Justice | AAJC), we submit this comment in advance of your March 25th, 2021 hearing with the CEOs of Alphabet, Facebook, and Twitter to examine the proliferation and management of misinformation and disinformation content on their platforms.

In light of the upcoming delayed release of redistricting data following the 2020 Census, the undersigned groups and individuals unequivocally affirm the basic principle that it is not appropriate to implement electoral district lines based primarily on American Community Survey (ACS) data. Data from the decennial census and data from the ACS are different, and each has appropriate applications, including in the area of redistricting.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice Submits Comment to the National Institutes of Health on the Racial Profiling of Asian Americans and Asian Immigrants
Asian Americans Advancing Justice submitted a comment to NIH raising concerns about the racial profiling of Asian American and Asian immigrant scientists, researchers, and scholars, particularly those of Chinese descent, and urging the agency to take action in addressing NIH’s role in these efforts. Over 220 community organizations, civil rights groups, science associations, academics, and concerned citizens signed on to the comment.
Advancing Justice | AAJC's Petition to President Biden to End the “China Initiative” and Combat Racial Profiling
Advancing Justice | AAJC delivered a petition to President Biden with nearly 30,000 signatures from impacted persons, concerned citizens, and community members urging the administration to put an immediate end to the “China Initiative” and take action to combat the racial profiling and targeting of Asian Americans and Asian immigrants by federal agencies, particularly the Department of Justice (DOJ), the National Institute of Health (NIH), and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Today, governors from 26 states and territories issued a joint statement addressing and condemning the rise in anti-Asian hate. In that statement, the governors make clear that: ‘What is happening to Asian Americans is simply un-American. We condemn racism, violence, and hatred against our AAPI communities, and we must do more to protect, lift up, and support the Asian American community.
