JoAnne Kennedy is vice president of technology at Nordstrom. In this strategic and operational role for the fashion retailer, JoAnne and her team support technology platforms for credit, human resources, finance and deliver key capabilities across the company through Tech Partner Management.


Since joining in 2014, JoAnne’s technology leadership at Nordstrom has spanned merchandise planning, loyalty, gift card and customer care. A passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion, and belonging, JoAnne also serves as an active sponsor for the Nordstrom Asian Pacific‐Islander employee resource group and is the executive sponsor for the company’s participation in the annual Grace Hopper Celebration.

Prior to her tenure at Nordstrom, JoAnne was vice president of technology at NBC News where she led the strategy, software development and operations for digital properties including NBC News, MSNBC, TODAY Show, CNBC and NBC Sports. JoAnne also held leadership positions in Microsoft’s IT, Premier Alliance support and Windows security divisions.

JoAnne is a lifelong Northwest resident and serves on the Board of Directors at the Asian Counseling and Referral Services, the Board of Directors at the Asian Americans Advancing Justice | AAJC, as well as the Slalom Client Advisory Board in Seattle.
